The KSBh at
The Farm Experience
The Experience starts with you
At KSBH at The Farm, we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all days, because we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all care. Every person, every story, and every step forward is uniquely their own.
You may come to us knowing exactly what kind of support you’re looking for, or you may just know that something needs to change. Maybe you’re seeking help for yourself, or for your teenager or entire family. Wherever you’re starting, we start by listening.
KSBH at The Farm is built around understanding who you are, what you’re navigating, and what you hope life can look like moving forward. From there, we create an individualized path that can bring together clinical therapy, Therapeutic Processing Groups, Experiential Therapy Groups, practical skill-building, and hands-on therapeutic experiences, with The Farm itself offering new possibilities for how and where care can happen.
Step One: Let’s Get to Know You
Your experience with KSBH begins with an assessment with one of our qualified mental health professionals. An assessment isn’t simply about identifying symptoms or checking boxes, but rather, it’s an opportunity for us to understand the bigger picture: what brought you to KSBH, what you’re experiencing right now, what’s important to you, what has or hasn’t helped before, and what you’d like to see changed.
For families, that can mean understanding the relationships and dynamics surrounding the person receiving care. Mental health rarely exists in isolation, and sometimes the most effective path forward includes more than one member of the family.
Step Two: Your Path Takes Shape
Our clinical team uses what we’ve learned to recommend a personalized combination of services based on your needs and goals. That might include:
- Individual therapy
- Family therapy
- Therapeutic Processing Groups
- Experiential Therapy Groups
- Practical skill-building through Life Skills and programs for parents and caregivers
- Hands-on therapeutic experiences
- Or a combination of approaches that evolves over time
One person may benefit most from consistent individual therapy, while another may combine individual counseling with a Therapeutic Processing Group or Experiential Therapy Group where they can learn alongside people navigating similar experiences and practice what they’re learning in real time. Your care plan reflects you, not simply a diagnosis or program description.
At The Farm, that personalization extends to where care happens, too. Individual therapy can take place in the office, but when it supports your comfort and therapeutic goal, it might also happen beside the pond, during a walk around the property, in the art space, or anywhere else on the campus that helps you feel more at ease. The environment can adapt to the person, just like the care plan does.

Step Three: Take Your First Step Forward
Depending on your individualized plan, a visit may begin in an individual therapy session or alongside others in a Therapeutic Processing Group or Experiential Therapy Group. You may talk through a particular challenge, learn a new coping strategy, or begin exploring how a skill connects to your own life.
Through Experiential Therapy, you may then have opportunities to put therapeutic tools into practice in real time. Maybe you’ll create something through your art, work with plants, prepare food, care for animals, or practice communication and problem-solving with others. The specific activity matters less than why you’re doing it.
Learning, Experiencing, and Making it yours
The KSBH model intentionally connects clinical therapy, Therapeutic Processing, Experiential Therapy, practical skill-building, and hands-on therapeutic experiences.
1. Explore
In individual therapy or a Therapeutic Processing Group, you may talk through what you’re experiencing, identify patterns, learn a new skill, or explore a different way of responding.
2. Activate
With guidance from your clinician, you’ll begin thinking about how that idea connects to your own life. What does it look like for you? Where is it difficult? What would using that skill actually require?
3. Practice
Experiential Therapy Groups and hands-on therapeutic experiences throughout The Farm give you opportunities to put therapeutic tools into action in a highly supportive environment.
4. Reflect
Afterward, you can talk about what happened. What felt natural? What was uncomfortable? What surprised you? What might you try differently next time?
5. Keep Walking With It
While you’re at The Farm, the goal isn’t to become really good at a skill, but rather to make the skill more accessible when you’re back in your day-to-day life and need it.
Your Plans can change
Healing isn’t linear, and neither is your experience at KSBH.
As you build new skills, encounter new challenges, reach your goals, or discover that something isn’t working for you, your needs may change, and your care can change with them.
That could mean introducing a Therapeutic Processing Group or Experiential Therapy Group, shifting the focus of individual therapy, involving family members, exploring a different therapeutic experience, or preparing for greater independence as you become more confident using your skills outside of KSBH.
What You can expect from us
To be seen as a person, not a diagnosis. Your experiences, strengths, relationships, identity, goals, and preferences matter.
Care with purpose. Whether you’re talking, creating, practicing, or reflecting, your experience should connect back to what you’re working toward.
A team that adapts with you. Your needs can change, and we’ll continue listening, assessing, and adjusting along the way.
Room to move at your own pace, because progress should not happen according to someone else’s timeline.
