Capital campaign 2025

Capital Campaign 2025:

Help Us raise $650,000 to Build
A New Place for Healing

We’re creating something that the region has never seen: a sanctuary for mental health care that feels more human, more helpful, and more whole for families.

With your support, we intend to move to this new property in Summer of 2026. Significant work on the property is underway, but we need your support to finish the vision. Are you ready to be a part of it?

HELP US TRANSFORM MENTAL HEALTH CARE IN OUR NEW HOME

Karla Smith Behavioral Health is raising $650,000 now to bring this vision to life, and we can’t do it alone.

Every contribution, whether a donation or hands-on help like landscaping, painting, or woodworking, directly builds a place where people feel safe and supported. Even if you can’t give financially, your time, talents, or simply spreading the word makes a meaningful difference.

Bring These Spaces to Life

Each area of the campus is designed with healing, community, and transformation in mind. Below, you’ll find specific spaces where your contribution, whether financial or hands-on, can make a direct impact.

Therapy Suite

GOAL: $50,000

Support the heart of our healing work. This suite will be home to individual, group, and family sessions. Your donation will fund construction, furnishings, and technology that make this a space of calm, clarity, and connection.

Seeking: contractor services, new or gently used furniture, therapeutic tools.

Multi-Purpose Barn

GOAL: $175,000

The hub of our campus. With your help, we’ll transform this space into a flexible venue for therapy sessions, workshops, retreats, and events. Contributions support flooring, HVAC, kitchen & bathroom installs, sound, and furnishings.

Seeking: desks, whiteboards, educational technology.

Gymnasium

GOAL: $125,000

Help us build a space where movement becomes medicine. This gym will host wellness activities like yoga, basketball, fitness sessions, and more—supporting physical and emotional strength.

Media Silo

GOAL: $100,000

Support our most creative space. The Media Silo will offer opportunities for expression through video, audio, storytelling, and content creation. Contributions fund technology, soundproofing, and broadcasting equipment.

Seeking: tech install, camera equipment, AV gear.

Farm Landscaping

GOAL: $125,000

Help us shape the natural beauty of the campus! Your gift will bring walkways, pavers, firepits, parking, fencing, trees, and gardens to life, creating outdoor spaces where people can breathe, reflect, and reconnect with the world around them.

Seeking: hardscaping, native plants, fencing materials, volunteer crews.

Help us furnish a communal dining area where conversation and connection can flourish. Meals shared here will build trust, community, and belonging.

Seeking: new or gently used dining furniture, fixtures.

Help us transform the lakeside area into a space for recreation and reflection. With paddleboats, life jackets, fishing gear, dock work, and walkways, this space becomes a restorative destination for clients and families alike.

Seeking: landscaping, dock materials, boats.

Giving that Builds

Leave Your Lasting Mark

When you support this project, you’re not just giving, you’re actively helping us build, brick by brick, bench by bench, room by room.

You can choose a specific space or join one of our partnership tiers for larger contributions. Every gift is deeply valued, and every gift brings us closer to our goal.

Join us in creating a space
where healing happens differently.

The truth is, most mental health systems weren’t designed for real life. That’s why we’re building something better, more creative, more holistic, and more human.

This campus is for the teen who needs therapy that doesn’t feel like a punishment, for the parent who’s doing everything they can but still feels alone, and for the person who’s ready to try again because they finally believe it’s possible.

About Karla Smith Behavioral Health
Our Next Step Forward

Karla Smith Behavioral Health is more than a clinic. We’re a team that shows up and stays, offering personalized, compassionate care for individuals and families navigating mental health challenges.

We believe that healing is a deeply human experience… and it doesn’t happen on a set schedule. That’s why our work centers on one simple truth: that every step forward matters.

Now, we’re taking our own next step forward: building a therapeutic wellness campus unlike anything else in our region. Set on several peaceful acres in Belleville, Illinois, our new property will reflect everything we believe about healing — that it’s human, that it takes time, and that it looks different for everyone.

This won’t look or feel like a traditional mental health center. And that’s the whole point.
